Publishing Scotland Conference Report
02/03/2010
Publishing Scotland's annual conference took place on Wednesday 24 February at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh.
We're delighted that Fiona Hyslop, Minister for Culture and External Affairs, Scottish Government, agreed to come along and deliver the keynote speech to a packed audience (places sold out weeks before the conference date). The programme included topical issues affecting the industry today as well as areas that we think will grow and develop in the coming years. You can see what was covered in the Conference 2010 Programme (PDF)

Above: Delegates from all branches of the industry packed the theatre: publishers, authors, booksellers, designers, editors, literary agents, distributors, printers, lecturers and representatives from other organisations including Skillset and CLA.
Above: Ernst Kallus (North Plains) speaking at the session on successful strategies for digital publishing. Ernst and the other panel members - Caroline Gorham (Canongate Books) and Martin McCall (CPI) - then answered questions from delegates.

Above: Delegates were able to browse displays from showcased suppliers and organisations during the breaks.

And, of course, delegates had plenty of opportunities to chat to each other and make new contacts during the day.
