Jon Reed

Jon Reed is a social media consultant who previously worked in academic publishing for 10 years, including as publishing director for McGraw-Hill. His clients include publishers, nonprofits and small businesses. He has provided training to organizations including Pearson Education, Oxford University Press, Taylor and Francis, SAGE, The Big Lottery Fund and Islington Council. As well as providing social media services and running workshops, he also speaks at conferences, and lectures on social media on the following courses:

    * Foundation Degree in Media and Business Applications (Birkbeck, University of London)
    * PG Dip Digital Media Management (Birkbeck, University of London)
    * MA in Creative Writing (Brunel)
    * MA/Dip in Publishing Studies (Book Marketing module) (City University)

His blog, Publishing Talk, is a resource for authors and publishers wanting to learn more about the marketing possibilities of social media. It also has a presence on several other social sites including over 40,000 followers on Twitter, making it one of the most followed Twitter accounts in the publishing world, and rated the ‘most influential' Twitter account about publishing by the Twitter directory WeFollow.
